Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your PC, through a web account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the bettor has decided on which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced gamblers are able to select the most money-making game each instance.
Once the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few styles of the game give the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
