Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.

After the player has chosen which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are able to select the most money-making machine every time.

After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, several styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their profits, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
